GEMBROOK BY ROSALIE DEKKER.
Gembrook is a town in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne holding special memories of childhood for designer Rosalie Dekker. It is also the name of her latest fabric collection. As a young girl Rosalie and her family and friends would search for emeralds, saphires and garnets in a small creek in Gembrook. Though they never found many gems, the colours of these stones are reflected in the colour palette of Gembrook. There are also very interesting tales of a deer farm established in Gembrook in the 1880’s and these stories inspired the main design element of the collection. Prints featuring entwined deer and star-like gems coordinate with subtle florals, stripes, spots and yet more vintage doilies.
Printed on a cotton linen blend, the fabric has a unique, subtle, earthy texture perfect for your next fabric project.
